Gatsby Dream Wedding at Oheka Castle
For the Bride on an "extended" budget, Oheka Castle is the go-to destination for a dream wedding that would make even Daisy Buchanan jealous.
The aptly named castle is located in Huntington, NY, on the North Shore of Long Island. It was constructed by Otto Khan between 1914-1919 , and it stands as a testament to gilded age decadence.
Oheka currently operates as a privately owned hotel. They have both indoor and outdoor ceremony sites, with the most popular being their formal gardens. Oheka only allows one wedding per day, and no more than one bride is allowed to wear a wedding gown at any given time on the property (meaning you won't have to worry about anyone else stealing your thunder on your special day!)
For the reception, Oheka offers in house catering, and a custom designed wedding cake is included with most packages! According to their website, the castle can accommodate up to 400 guests for a seated dinner and 1000 for their Gatsby themed option. With the Gatsby reception, you get use of several different public rooms for up to 5 hours, with a tasteful buffet and passed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
One of the plus sides to having a wedding at a hotel is that a suite for the Bride and Groom is included on the wedding night. Oheka also offers the option to rent out the entire hotel, 32 rooms in total. They also offer a breakfast package option for the morning after.

Additionally, Brides seeking more rooms for out of town guests or less expensive accommodations should check out The Inn at Fox Hollow. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and most rates include breakfast and dinner. It is roughly a 15 minute drive from Oheka.
